Prior to receiving a sales and use tax refund related to an incentive award from the Iowa Economic Development Authority, taxpayers must notify the Iowa Department of Revenue that their project has been completed and they intend to file a sales and use tax refund claim. Taxpayers may submit this notice of intent to claim using CACTAS. Taxpayers will need to be logged in with their A&A ID and will need the appropriate tax credit certificate number and contract number in order to file their notice of intent to claim a sales and use tax refund. If the taxpayer has not received a tax credit certificate, please contact the Iowa Economic Development Authority. Taxpayers have one (1) year after the project completion date to file their refund claim.
